Glide

Ablack-dragon-cruises-ls the sun rises in the Eastern sky

She sets out.

Eyes challenging

The complacent clouds.

The town sleeps

Safe within their mattress dreams.

Even the birds yawn

In the branches.

‘Enough’ she exhales.

She searches the horizon.

Blood and bone

Fixed

To the bronze compass.

The sea churns like a hungry lover.

The sail rises with the Northern wind.

“Gods play in distant lands,”

They said

“Enough,” she said.

Yes, always yes.
